THURS. 9/21/2000
Laura Verklan and Teri Scott meet Tufan, Zeynep and Berta in Istanbul.
After having a great lunch at Haci Baba we ventured into the Grand Bazaar to get a good feeling of Istanbul.
The covered
Bazaar is an experience by itself. The shops cover the walls with colorful
carpets, fabrics, hand painted lamps... but the very 'must' in Istanbul's
famous Bazaar is to enter one of the many small carpet shops and let the carpet
dealer to show you his best pieces... you can travel throughout Turkey and its
history while you drink Turkish tea just by listening to the origin of carpet
weaving and its colorful designs, and the best of it is that you can get one of
this 'stories' home with you. The mystery of today is ... who of us ended buying
one of these unique pieces?
The only way to find the answer to the mystery question is going to Alender Ozel's shop in the Cover Pazar in Keseciler Sokak 72-74. He may have wonderful stories to tell you too.
At 10:15 we are all taking a plane to Malatya where we'll be meeting our car and driver so we can start shooting locations in the morning. The stories about our shootings and our accomplishments will be here tomorrow approximately at this time.
